Named 2021 Theatrical MVP

Lilli was recognized in the Syracuse.com article “Best shows? New trends? Our critics reflect on 2021 in Syracuse theater” celebrating the region’s theatrical year in review by critic Len Fonte in response to the question:

“Was there any single performer or production person who particularly impressed you this year?”

“For me, this year’s MVP is Lilli Komurek, who was featured in three of this season’s favorite musicals. In Cortland Rep’s jaunty “Honky Tonk Angels,” she was a Texas housewife hankering for country western stardom. Zipping on and off stage in several comic roles in “Footloose” at the Rev, she sang “Let’s Make Believe We’re in Love” in still another honky tonk scene. She recently lent her crystalline voice to Redhouse’s exuberant “Sister Act” as the harried mother superior.
